Horizon Oil Sands, north of Fort McMurray, is an exciting part of our growth. Horizon Oil Sands operations started in February 2005 and after years of planning and construction, the Horizon Oil Sands successfully and sustainably produced its first barrels of high quality, sweet synthetic crude oil (SCO) in early 2009. First production of SCO was a major milestone for Canadian Natural and we are very pleased with the success of the project. With Phase 1 production capacity of 110,000 bpd, this is just the first step in value creation.  Looking to the future, our assets support 232,000 – 250,000 barrels per day of light, sweet, crude oil production for over 40 years, with no production declines.

This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Position Summary

SCOPE:
Reporting to the Manager of Business Systems, the successful candidate will contribute by utilizing system knowledge in the development of business processes and managing the resulting implementation for Supply Management and the various Maintenance Areas. 

KEY AREA OF CONTRIBUTION:
• Assess business requirements and provide business and system solutions. 
• Represent Horizon Business areas in the design, development and testing of modifications and reports with the EnterpriseOne Support team. 
• Training and development of E1 Analysts and area SuperUsers. 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Representation of the functional area (Supply Management and Maintenance areas) with Corporate EnterpriseOne as it relates to development of projects for the purposes of resource coordination, business process development, functional area consultation and project reporting.
• Examine current and future business processes and system applications, development of business process and system solutions (E1 or otherwise), implementation, rollout and training as required. (Including comparison, evaluation and recommendation of alternatives to E1).
• Responsible for the management, training and development of E1 Analysts in both technical skills and knowledge of business processes.
• Develop and coordinate the training program for Supply Management, Maintenance and Financial systems to emphasize interdependencies with systems of other areas.
• Member of 3 strategic working committees with the responsibility of communicating system changes to the Horizon teams (Operational Supply Management Leadership Team, Maintenance Leadership Team, E1 Working Committee).
• Participate in the development and testing of future modifications and reports for the Supply Management and Maintenance applications by translating Business requirements into technical EnterpriseOne requirements.
• Use knowledge of business processes and technical functionality of EnterpriseOne to analyze and provide solutions to Supply Management and Maintenance’s daily needs for contract and work order management.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Education & Experience:

• Relevant Post Secondary Education
• 7+ years ERP related application experience (EnterpriseOne preferred)
• Knowledge of EnterpriseOne file structures and processes considered an asset
• Technical training experience
• Construction and / or mining related experience desirable

Personal Qualities:
• Business acumen together with an analytical mind set
• Previous implementation and / or support experience
• Advanced time management skills with a strong work ethic
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to the value of others as well as yourself

• Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Alberta and environmental standards

• Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and is worn where and when required.
