SCOPE: The Shutdown and Turnaround Planner will: • Be responsible for Planning and Scheduling of piping jobs for shutdowns (SD) and turnarounds (TA) to ensure CNRL’s expectations are met. • Plan all piping related jobs and coordinate field maintenance contractors during execution of shutdowns and turnarounds. • Support daily planning activities.
KEY AREA OF CONTRIBUTION: • The ideal candidate will develop TA processes to ensure that the plan is the best for the activity and that everything is going well. • The candidate will have interaction with engineering, operation, inspection, process engineers and external contractors including vendors and manufacturers.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES: • Identify the critical repair jobs and best practice repair methods that may be expected during major TA. • Identify, gather and scope any outstanding piping related job that may be required to be included in the first Upgrading TA/SD cycle (i.e. planning, scheduling and execution). • Review/Define piping equipment scope of job for scheduled turnarounds in liaison with InService, Engineering, Technical, Process, Integrity and other company incumbent departments. • Plan all related to piping equipment work orders that are within scope of the turnarounds and shutdowns. • Help in preparation of TA look ahead budget for the equipment under his/her responsibility. • Coordinate with TA spare parts specialist the procurement of all required spares, materials and service contracts to execute the jobs as per the scope for all related piping equipment Work Orders in the TAs. • Lead the safety reviews of the TA/SD work packages involving EHS, supervisors, operations for the scope of jobs for his/her discipline. • During TA/SD executions, coordinate maintenance activities between various contractors and CNRL departments such as engineering, quality, materials, planning to ensure safe, quality and cost effective maintenance work is completed on time and on schedule. • Lead the lessons learned meetings after the shutdowns/TA’s and document/action them accordingly. • Provide support/guidance to day to day contractor’s planners on any related job to Piping equipment. • Periodically review spare parts stock quantities for piping related line items including both operational and capital (insurance) spares. • Periodically review/adjust preventive maintenance programs set up in the CMMS for all Piping related equipment. • Prepare post TA/SD planning report and ensure all executed work orders were properly documented and closed up in the CMMS.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION: Education & Experience: • Completion of Engineering Degree with a requirement for registration with APEGGA or eligibility as a Professional Engineer in Alberta. (Mechanical Engineering Degree is preferred). • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in a Plant Maintenance Planner Scheduler role in TA and SD, working on heavy oil upgraders, large oil refining facilities or petrochemical plants • Experience defining and implementing TA processes will be an asset. • Experience in Planning, Budgeting and Estimation are required.
