SCOPE: The Engineering Information Technology (EIT) team is a technical and highly motivated Engineering Systems support group.
- The Integration Specialist is responsible for addressing direction, overall technical aspects and coordination of the EIT environment.
- This individual will provide support to the EIT systems, other EIT systems specialists and interface with other Horizon Oil Sands teams and infrastructure departments.
KEY AREA OF CONTRIBUTION: Maintain functional engineering systems and applications within our IS infrastructure ensuring alignment and migration of the applications with the IS modifications.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Defining hardware architecture • Defining engineering systems software architecture • Development and monitoring of Engineering Systems technology direction • EIT Environment Design and System build • Functional requirements and testing criteria for EIT systems • Monitoring vendor’s software and technical deliverables • Software acceptance & QC test plans • Technical team resource requirements • Coaching, mentoring and coordination of the technical team’s activities • Systems support plans • Assistance in defining the business requirements of the project and business process changes by the project • Business test plan and acceptance criteria • Business benefits identification and realization • Standards & policy requirements • Analyze and provide recommendations of system solutions to meet business needs • Detailing Information Technology (IT) definitions based on identified needs of the project and Canadian Natural organization
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION: Education & Experience: • 10 years of experience in Engineering Systems management, administration or architecture coupled with accredited training courses • A solid understanding of Engineering industry practices and processes • A detailed understanding of the tools and systems used in the Engineering design field, including direct experience with PDS, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant Electrical, SmartPlant Foundation, eMarian, Microstation and AutoCAD. • Advanced working knowledge of IT infrastructure and dependencies (operating systems, databases, networks, hardware etc) for a large, fully integrated engineering design system. • Previous experience working with the Owner/Operator company beneficial.
